Kebbi State governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the release of N 1,795,505,173.08 for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to 745 state, local government, local government education authority, and contract staff from May 15 to October 15, 2023.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Bena on Friday.
The statement indicated that 318 gratuity/death and contract staff beneficiaries payment amounted to N972,710,4 for state retirees. Payment for local Government gratuity/death benefits to 247 beneficiaries amounted to N427,971,191,33 ,while the payment for LGEA gratuity/death benefits to 180 beneficiaries also amounted to N394,823,495.83, totalling N1.795,505,173,08.
The Head of Service appreciated Governor Idris for his magnanimity towards the welfare of civil servants in the state, even with the current economic crunch in the country.
