The Kebbi State Government has signed the contract for the construction of the Koko/ Zuru, ahuta and Dabai roads.

The signing of the contract, which was held at the Kebbi State Ministry of Works, was witnessed by the participating companies – GNIC,ZBCC and Habib Engineering Company each with specified kilometres to cover as specified in the contract agreement and documents.

Koko -Zuru  is a federal  road now taken over by Kebbi government due to constant construction delays and its economic importance to Kebbi and Nigeria

While speaking during the signing ceremony, Kebbi State Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, thanked Governor Nasir Idris for fulfilling his promises to the Zuru Emirate.

Muslim described the road construction as timely, saying it will ease transportation squabbles being faced by commuters, open business activities and connect the state to international communities.

He said: “I just want to  urge the three contractors to adhere to the contract specifications and not add a kilometre without permission from the ministry’s supervising engineers at site.

“Having carefully selected your companies during the contract bidding and having gone through your records of quality services, we are expecting a solid execution project from all of you and we will not delay your payments as long as we are satisfied with your job, because our Governor, Dr Nasir Idris never owes contractors.”
