Wife of Kebbi State Governor Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris has flagged-off official launching of six ambulances for free Rural Emergency and Maternal Transport.
While declaring the programme open at the General Hospital, Argungu, Idris explained that, the purpose of providing the ambulances was to enable women and children have easy access to health care facilities to improve their health condition.
She called on women to take advantage of the programme by visiting hospitals, when ever the need arises for the betterment of their health and their children, adding that members of the National Road Transport Workers are included in the programme.
The governor’s wife, who commended her husband, Governor Nasir Idris, for providing delivery kits for mothers, called on all the husbands in the state to support their wives by encouraging them to visit health facilities for antenatal and other medical care.

She appealed to the people of Argungu Local government Area to continue supporting the present administration for provision of more dividends of democracy.
In their separate remarks, the Commissioner of Health, Alh.Sama’ila Yakubu Augie and the chairman of Argungu Local Government, Alhaji Aliyu Sani Gulma, commended the effort of the wife of the state Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris for launching the Rural Emergency and Maternal Transport in the area, which they described as commendable.
They explained that the administration of Dr. Idris has executed laudable projects that have direct impact, especially in the area of healthcare services, education, agriculture, and road networks, among others in the state.
A cross section of dignitaries who delivered their goodwill messages included Dr. Lawal Kangiwa and representative of the World Health Organization (WHO).
