Kebbi gov vows to promote badminton in Nigeria

Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has promised to continue to support and promote the game of badminton in Nigeria.

The governor stated this while hosting a delegation of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, led by Mai Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman alongside the President of the Federation, Barrister Francis Orbih in Birnin Kebbi.

The governor, who has been a promoter of badminton, said apart from mobilizing young players he would ensure the game is moving forward in the country.

“I was one of you and I will continue to be part of the badminton family. I will continue to be part of the people in Nigeria who will be promoting badminton in Nigeria. Whatever it will take us to develop badminton, we would do it,” he said.

Earlier, Mai Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman congratulate the governor for his victory at the poll and informed him they were in the state to felicitate with him and seek his continuous support to promote badminton in Nigeria.

“You are part of us, you used to encourage young Nigerians to join badminton and sponsored them even before you becomes governor. We are still soliciting for your partnership to promote badminton in Nigeria,” he said.
