Kebbi State Governor , Dr. Nasir Idris has promised to resettle all the internally Displaced Person’s( IDPs) by insecurity in Sakaba Local Government Areas and the entire Zuru Emirate to their ancestral homes.

The Governor stated this when he paid a sympathy visit to commiserate with the Chief of Sakaba and his people over recent bandit attacks that sacked some villages in the area.

He said the present administration was doing everything possible to tackle insecurity bedeviling some parts of the state, observing that no state is 100 per cent secure.

According to him, “we are not here for politics but we are here to sympathise with you over the recent bandit attack. Sakaba is one of the few places this government has at heart.

“Remember, no state in Nigeria is 100 per cent devoid of one problem or the other. However, government is doing everything possible to protect its people,” he said.

The governor advised the people to repent and seek divine intervention, saying that,; “We must change our attitude, surrender ourselves and seek divine intervention, In-Sha-Allah, He will listen and accept our supplication.”

Idris urged the people to promote peace at all times, “because no nation can develop in an atmosphere of rancour or in a chaotic environment, hence the need to be our brothers’ keepers.

“We don’t advise any of our supporters to fight anybody and you shouldn’t tamper with anybody’s posters or billboards. Try to be at peace with everybody.”

Speaking on Kebbi politics, the governor recalled that Sen. Adamu Aliero spent eight years as governor, Sa’idu Dakingari spent eight years, and Sen. Atiku Bagudu also spent eight years, “why is it that some people don’t want Kauran Gwandu to spend eight years?” he asked.

In his speech, the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Salihu Maikasuwa-Dangoje, used the medium to thank the Gov.for facilitating his emergence as Speaker.

He expressed concern over the renewed attacks on communities not only in Kebbi State but across Nigeria, asking why such ugly incidents always happen when elections are approaching.

The Speaker berated the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, describing him as a mini-President when he served as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Because the then President Muhammadu Buhari gave him more powers than any other minister in the cabinet.

“The question here is what did he do to stop the insecurity? Whenever these bandits strike a community, what did he do to cushion the effect on the affected community? He didn’t use the opportunity to assist his people,” he said.

The Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Mr. Haliru Wasagu, said the governor had been doing his best to secure the state.
