The Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has inaugurated 21 Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Agenda across the state.
Idris, who formally inaugurated the coordinators at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi, expressed his delight with the initiative, noting that it would enhance public participation in governance and improve policy awareness at the grassroots level.
According to him, the coordinators are expected to serve as an effective channels for communicating the policies, programmes, and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration to the grassroots.
Idris assured the ambassadors of the state government’s support and promised to provide an enabling environment for their effective discharge of their duties, aimed at ensuring the smooth re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He emphasised that Kebbi State’s active participation in Federal Government projects and programmes remains a core priority of his administration in order to maximise development opportunities for the benefit of the people.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Kebbi State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, ACG (rtd) Sambo Gwandu, stated that the 21 Local Government Coordinators would ensure massive grassroots mobilisation by conveying the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris to the people.
He charged the coordinators to work diligently to mobilize support for both the President and the Governor at the grassroots level.
Gwandu described the occasion as a milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey, noting that the inauguration of the coordinators would further strengthen grassroots mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda in Kebbi State.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing him as an Ambassador and State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, pledging absolute loyalty and unwavering commitment to the success of the programme.
Gwandu highlighted key achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly to the bold economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange restrictions, aimed at stabilising the economy and curbing corruption in the petroleum sector.
He also cited major infrastructure projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road, Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway, Kano–Damaturu–Maiduguri Road, and the Illela–Sokoto–Badagry Expressway.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding positive results, especially in agriculture, with reduced prices of food items such as rice, millet, and maize, attributed to increased production and government interventions.
The Coordinator further highlighted social intervention programmes, including the Student Loan Scheme and improvements in the National Health Insurance Scheme, which have enhanced access to education and healthcare.
On security, he noted that areas previously affected by insurgency and banditry are now witnessing relative peace due to strategic federal interventions.
Speaking on the responsibilities of the ambassadors, Gwandu said they are expected to serve as image builders, grassroots mobilisers, and promoters of government policies, urging them to work closely with stakeholders in their respective local government areas.
Also speaking, the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, called on party members across the 21 local government areas to remain united and cooperate fully with their coordinators to achieve the objectives of the Renewed Hope Programme.
