Kebbi gov flags off N565.74m roads of 6.5km in Gwandu’

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has flag off the 6.5 kilometers roads at Malisa village in Gwandu’ Local Government of the state which cost N565,748,237 under the Rural Access and Agriculture Marketing Project(RAAMP).
Idris, who while flagging off the project, disclosed that the project will start from Malisa to Kurya and end at Maruda village within Gwandu’ Local Government Area.
According to him, “today, we gathered here to mark this significant milestone in our journey to rural transmission and agriculture development. The flag off ceremony for the construction of rural roads is a testament to our commitment to uplifting our rural communities and unlocked their potentialities.
“My admiration recognize the vital roles agriculture plays in our state economy and lives of our people. However,we also acknowledged the challenges our rural Communities faced in having access to markets, transportation and essential services by the extension social services. That is why in the first phase of our rural transformation, we have identified 300 kilometres roads for upgrade and proper reconstruction and maintainace.
“This road we Re flagging off today is one of the these roads and we would continue untill all our rural roads are upgraded and rehabilitated.
“I am committed to ensure that our rural Communities are not left behind. We will continue t invest in the rural infrastructure, agriculture and social services to create prosperous and inclusive future for all our people “.
Idris urged the contractor handling the project to execute quality work, deliver it on time, stressed that the state government would be monitoring the project very closely.
The Governor also flagged off road construction that kick off at Rini village, passing through Gidan -Jodi to Garu town in Augie local government area of Kebbi State.
Earlier, Project Coordinator of Rural Access and Agriculture Marketing Project(RAAMP) in Kebbi State,Engr. Idris Adamu disclosed that the road flagged off by the Governor is 6.5 kilometres roads that would commenced from Malisa to Kurya and Maruda village whose total cost is N565,748,237 expected to be completed with 12 months.
