Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has donated the sum of N100 million to support women-focused development initiatives across the state.
This forms part of the administration broader commitment to inclusive governance and economic empowerment.
Idris made the donation at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi during a large gathering of women groups under the aegis of ‘Mugudu Tare, Mu Tsira Tare’ Foundation, in collaboration with the Nasara Foundation , founded by the of wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare.
While addressing the gathering , Governor Idris expressed appreciation to the organisers and participants, noting that women remain critical partners in the political and developmental journey of his administration.
He emphasized that since the inception of his tenure, women have demonstrated commitment, loyalty, and resilience, contributing significantly to the progress recorded in the state.
He stated that his administration is people oriented and committed to supporting initiatives that promote self-reliance and community development. According to him, whenever groups come together to advance their collective welfare, it becomes the responsibility of government to complement such efforts.

In recognition of the contributions made by members of the association and other supporters, the Governor announced that the Kebbi State Government would not be left behind in supporting the cause, hence the donation of N100 million.
He further disclosed that plans have been finalised for additional empowerment programmes specifically targeted at women, assuring that beneficiaries would be drawn from across the state.
In her remarks, the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, expressed gratitude to the women of Kebbi State for their continued support and cooperation. She reaffirmed her commitment to improving the welfare of women, youths, and vulnerable groups, noting that all initiatives undertaken by her office are aimed at uplifting communities and strengthening social cohesion.
The Chief launcher, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, Executive Chairman of Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency announced a donation of N30 million naira ,1 million Atampa Wrappers and a vehicle.
Also Hon Bello Kaoje, House of Representatives member announced an additional pledge of over N86 million from him and other donors, for the association.He also donated grinding machines and agricultural inputs to women.
