Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State, Mr Umar Hadejia, has warned criminals to repent or relocate: “Kebbi will be too hot for them to operate. Already, we have arrested 12 suspected criminals. We will not relent in our efforts to rid Kebbi of criminals.

“Our officers remain committed to pursuing justice with diligence and integrity. I have charged officers to rise up to the task and flush out criminals. We have imbibed community policing. Officers should apply professionalism when carrying out their duties.

“Discipline, professionalism and integrity are the core values every officer must uphold. Subordination under ant guise will not be tolerated. I have visited tactical team operatives. The command will continue to demonstrate resilience, innovation and professionalism in safeguarding the lives and properties of the citizens.

“We have capacity-building initiatives which are critical to equipping officers with modern policing skills, intelligence-led strategies, emotional intelligence and improved community engagement approaches. They are essential for effective policing in today’s security environment.

“Officers should translate gains into practical field operations. Improved capacity must reflect in proactive policing, respect for human rights, professionalism and increased public confidence i n the police.

“I visited all the flashpoints, reinforcing security collaboration between the police and the public, including all the stakeholders, to ensure a safer Kebbi. Operatives arrested 12 suspected   armed robbers in various locations. We have charged some of the suspects in court.

“Officers are warned to shun corruption and illegal duty. They should cultivate good relationship with the public and respect fundamental human rights of the citizens.

“IGP Olukayode Egbetokun’s vision is to fight crime and criminality, uphold justice, fairness, protect human dignity and restore standards and values. We will engage in robust and effective human and technical intelligence gathering process to enhance the capacity of personnel.”
