The Chief Judge of Kebbi State,Justice Umar Abubakar has inaugurated an appeal panel and five election tribunal panels for the forthcoming local government council election slated for 31st August ,2024.
While inaugurating the panels, Justice Abubakar named Justice Sabiu Bala Shuaibu as the chairman of the appeal panel while five sub panels were also inaugurated.
The sub-panels including; Panel 1 sitting in Birnin Kebbi, Panel 2, Birnin Kebbi, Panel 3 in Argungu while Panels 4 and 5 will be sitting in Yauri and Zuru respectively.
While addressing the panels, Justice Abubakar warned them to resist all temptation to compromise their integrity.
According to him, “the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed the 31st day of August,2024, for the conduct of the elections into all the 21 Local Government Councils of Kebbi State. Five election tribunals are created to handle election petitions throughout the state.”
He charged the member of the tribunals to be above board and creditably discharge their duties in carrying out the assignment to the best of their ability. You must resist all temptation from any quarters to compromise your credibility.”
