The Kebbi State Government, a House of Representatives member representing Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba/Danko-Wasagu federal constituency, Rep Kabiru Ibrahim-Tukura and the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, have urged supporters of the party to maintain peace after the declaration of by-election results.
They stated this while speaking with newsmen during the by-election at their various constituency.
While speaking with newsmen,Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Secretary to Kebbi Government (SSG) appealed to electorates to remain camp even after declaration of results in the bye and re-run elections in the state.
The by-election was sequel to the appointment of Dr Yusuf Tanko-Sununu as Minister of State, Education by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tafida said the call became imperative in view of the spirit of the state government to maintain peace and ensure growth and development.
The SSG said no society would record any meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancho and bitterness, hence the need for people to promote peace.
He observed that in view of the spread of projects across the state, electorate have no option than to vote for APC to reciprocate the gesture.
Also in an interview, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru expressed appreciation with high turn-out of voters and expressed optimism that their party would emerge victorious.
The chairman attributed the large turn out to the commitment of the state governor to ensure execution of projects across the state.
According to him, “People turn-out en mass to vote for our party because they have confidence in the leadership of our governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris. He has started well and people have witnessed development more than expected, that’s why they reciprocate by voting APC.”
Zuru assured the people of state that with Kauran Gwandu as captain of the ship, Kebbi would record rapid development.
In his reaction,a member representing Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba/Danko-Wasagu federal constituency, Rep. Kabiru Ibrahim-Tukura appealed to people to stay calm even after results were announced.
According to him,”I want to plead with our people to stay calm, keep calm even after the announcement, they shouldn’t allow other people to provoke them and they should celebrate in a very modest way.
“Do not allow others to influence your decision into doing anything negative or caus havoc to others while celebrating,” he pleaded.
Alhaji Lukman Yauri, the APC Assistant State Public Relations Officer (PRO) said the party had done the needful in terms of campaign as well as project execution by the present administration.
He urged the entire people of the state to support the present administration at all levels to enable them deliver dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.
