Kebbi: BUA Foundation distributes food items to 500 women, orphans

The Abdulsamad Rabiu Initiative (ASRI) Africa, with Ummuameena Foundation has distributed food items to 400 poor women and 100 orphans in Kebbi State.

The distribution took place at the Convocation Arena of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi.

While speaking to newsmen shortly after the distribution, the Zonal Coordinator, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi Kyafe, disclosed that the distribution of the items have been extended to all the 19 northern states.

She explained that the purpose of giving the food items was to cushion the effects of the economic hardship of the less privileged during the month of Ramadan, and stressed that it would continue to be so annually.

In her remarks, the Kebbi State Coordinator, Dr Badiyya Danjuma, said that the kind gesture from the business mogul was geared towards reducing the effects of hardship, particularly during Ramadan fasting.

According to her: “We must commend him for the gesture because he is not the only rich man in the north, but he chosen to assist the poor and orphans. “

The food packs distributed included 20 packets of spaghetti noodles, gallon of power oil, seasoning cubes, 25kg of rice, 25kg of millet and cash tokens to all the beneficiaries carefully selected by the committee.
