Movie lovers will be in for a bit of drama and comedy at cinemas across Nigeria as Tunice Entertainment World will today unveil the movie ‘Survivors’.
The lengthy film directed by
renowned Director, Kayode Peters (My Flatmates) takes a comic peek into the scourge of kidnapping which remains a challenge in Nigeria.
Survivors, a star studded comedy drama chronicles the story of two low income earning mechanics, Gideon(played by comic act, Brother Shaggi) and Zacchaeus portrayed by Mr Macaroni.
Their life took a drastic turn for the worse after they were introduced to the nefarious act of kidnapping by a mutual friend, David (played by MC Lively).
Speaking during the screening of the film in Lagos, the producer of the movie, John Esedafe, said that the story centers on the kidnapping issue happening in Nigeria today.
“So we added a bit of drama and comedy to it and we had to do this with MC Lively, Brother Shaggi and Mr Macaroni so as to infuse comedy to pass out a message to the audience. Having to work with these three funny people was not entirely an easy task but it was fun and the fact that this movie came out this good showed that these guys are top professionals”, Esedafe said.
Also speaking at the screening, Film maker, Ndidi Abiaziem, said, “Working with these actors was fun all day from day one to the last day of shooting the movie. We really had fun working with the actors”.
Chris Iheuwa, who played the character, Chief Baron, a kidnap kingin, said, “a lot of people think that depression is meant for the Caucasians or the white people. But depression is real and is a common trend now especially in Africa. To think that ritual killings, ransomes, kidnapping are now trending in Nigeria is crazy, I just hope with time, we put a stop to all this”.
The movie also featured I Go Save, alongside noteworthy industry
talents Chinonso Arubayi, Chris Iheuwa and distinguished Nollywood legend Tony Akposheri among others.
