- Says significant progress achieved in combating insecurity

Katsina State Governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, on Tuesday presented a total of N897,865,078,282.05 for the 2026 fiscal year before the House of Assembly.
He put the Recurrent Expenditure at N167,725,372,458.50 representing 18.68 per cent with Capital Expenditure at N730,139,705,823.55, representing 81.32 per cent.
Tagged “Building Your Future 111” Radda said that his government adopted a pragmatic and a disciplined approach to revenue generation and expenditure management, in preparing the 2026 fiscal proposal.
According to him: “A comprehensive review of all funding sources has been conducted to guarantee fiscal balance and eliminate potential deficits in implementation.
“Every project, programme and initiative encapsulated in this budget is designed to directly improve the lives of our citizens. “We remain resolute in our determination to ensure that the benefits of governance reach every corner of our state, urban and rural alike.
“The primary objective is to establish ourselves as leaders in participatory budgeting within Nigeria and this commitment is reflected in the current budget.”

He noted that the government has made significant progress in addressing the challenges of insecurity that “once posed a serious threat to the peace and stability of our state.
“Many local governments have been restored to normalcy and efforts to contain criminal elements have successfully pushed them to remote areas.
“We have allocated substantial resources toward enhancing security and remain committed to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of our citizens.”
Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, hailed the Governor for his “bold interventions in agriculture, including farm input and mechanization support which have boosted productivity and improved food security.
“Now that Your Excellency has laid the 2026 Appropriation Bill before this Honourable House, we assure you and the people of Katsina State that we shall give it the serious and patriotic attention it deserves.
“Our Appropriation Committee together with other standing committees of the House will analyse every allocation to ensure that the proposed expenditures are realistic, people-oriented and in accordance with the Building Your Future development blueprint,” the Speaker said.
