Kano State Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf has declared that nobody can stop the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano.

The Governor made the declaration in response to the court order by a Federal High Court presided by Justice A. M. Liman which restrained him and seven other respondents from implementing the Kano Emirate Council Law 2024.

Speaking at the occasion of the presentation of the letter of reinstatement to the new Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Yusuf explained that the bill had been passed by the House, assented to and had become law before the ex-parte order came into existence hours after.

He argued that it has never happened in any part of Nigeria that a bill that spent days in the House, got passed and signed by the House and assented to by the governor was reversed by a court order.

He also faulted the order on the grounds that the judge granted it from the United States, even as he added that the court order was transferred by a computer message.

Yusuf, in addition, disclosed that at the moment he had not been served with any order by anybody, adding that all he had of the document in question were bits that were available on some media outlets.

Yusuf vowed to report the judge to the National Judicial Council (NJC) with a view to advocating a strong position against such judicial behaviour, adding that it is important that those who decide on the law should be law-abiding.

Yusuf tasked the people of the state not to entertain any fear regarding the reinstatement of Sanusi, adding that he had followed all the due processes in exercising his powers.

He explained that his delay in reversing the injustice of the past was motivated by the need to ensure that the process was flawless and correctly executed.

Yusuf insisted that his decision to return the monarch to his throne was motivated by the fact that he was deeply convinced that Sanusi was victimized in 2019 by the Ganduje administration while adding that the former Kano Emirate Law divided and destroyed the Kano Emirate Council.

According to him, the reinstatement of the monarch was well-received by the vast majority of the people, adding that Kano is presently peaceful, very happy and in a festive mood.

Yusuf told Sanusi that his reappointment was guided by a collective positive judgment about his confidence, creditability, proven excellence and popularity across the country and beyond.

He urged him to deploy his intellect, wealth of experience, reach, network and capacity to rebuild the institution of the Kano Emirate Council.

He also urged him to be guided by the tenets of Islam, to unite the children of Dabo and to unite the different Islamic sects in the state while praying Allah to guide, protect and make his tenure easy for him to lead.

Yusuf  urged the people to go about their businesses and to continue to pray for the success of the new monarch on the throne .

Saturday Sun observed that soon after the remarks, the kingmakers and district heads went forward to pledge their allegiance to the new monarch, who later on,  led the Jumat prayers at the Government House, Kano.
