The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Saidu Yahaya, has resigned his appointment.

A source told the media in Kano on Wednesday that the former Chairman submitted his resignation letter to the authorities on Tuesday.

Yahaya’s resignation. may said, may be related to a slip in his relationship with the Kano State Government.

He was recently criticised by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf who publicly stated that Yahaya had performed below his expectation.

Yahaya was appointed Chairman of the PCACC in August 2025, following the expiration of the tenure of the former chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado.

He was approved by the Kano State House of Assembly for a five-year tenure.

The commission’s Legal Secretary, Hafsat Kutama, may to assume office as acting Chairman of the commission from Wednesday.
