Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has presented cheques worth N34.3 million to 62 families of police officers who died in active service and officers who were involved in accidents.
The presentation was made on Wednesday, September 17, 2026, at the Bompai headquarters of the Command under the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Scheme.
A total of 62 cheques amounting to N34,309,073.70 were distributed to beneficiaries comprising next-of-kin of deceased officers and injured personnel.
Presenting the cheques on behalf of the IGP, Bakori said the initiative demonstrates that the sacrifices of fallen officers will never be forgotten, adding that the Force remains committed to the welfare of both serving and deceased personnel.
He noted that while no amount of money could replace a life, the benefit was a token of solidarity with bereaved families.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously for the upkeep and education of their children.
He assured that the Command will continue to prioritize their welfare and ensure prompt delivery of all entitlements.
Responding on behalf of the families, Malama Safiya Abdullahi Adamu thanked the IGP and the CP for the gesture and prayed for the repose of the departed officers and quick recovery for the injured.
