The Kano State Police Command has intercepted reports of audio and video clips containing statements capable of inciting public disorder and creating fear among residents.
The Command said on Thursday night that it has arrested the suspect behind the circulated video and that he is currently being interrogated.
“We wish to state that the Command views the inflammatory statement seriously and that the suspect will be made to face the full weight of the law at the end of investigation,” it said.
A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, condemned the creation and dissemination of such inflammatory content.

“The Command will not tolerate any form of hate speech, incitement or violence,” it warned.
Meanwhile, the police said that adequate security measures have been put in place to prevent any breach of peace and ensure the safety of all Kano residents.
“The Command is working closely with other security agencies to monitor the situation and respond promptly to any incident and assures the public that there is no cause for alarm,” it stated.
