The Chairman of the Kano State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bello Gambo Bichi, has accepted the dissolution of the committee by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in the state.
The PDP’s NWC had directed the immediate dissolution of the State Working Committee with effect from Thursday, 24 September 2027.
Reacting to the development, Bello Gambo Bichi said he was in support of the dissolution, explaining that it was part of the conditions given by the immediate past governorship candidate of the party, Bello Dalha, for renouncing his candidacy in favour of Muhammed Sani Abacha.
He explained that during consultations leading to the replacement of the governorship candidate in the state, the former candidate had set a number of conditions, among which was the dissolution of the State Working Committee.

Bichi described his stance on the dissolution as a sacrifice worth the pain, adding that it was part of the reconciliation process to bring forth Muhammed Sani Abacha as the candidate of the party.
“When we agreed to reconcile the different factions of the PDP in the state and to bring in Muhammad Sani Abacha as our governorship candidate, we believed that Abacha could be a stronger flag-bearer. During this engagement, the former candidate requested the dissolution of the State Working Committee of the party, which I fully endorsed,” he stated.
It will be recalled that the party had, a week earlier, announced Muhammed Sani Abacha as its governorship candidate in the 2027 polls, with Yusuf Ado Kibiya as his running mate.
