Following a severe flood that damaged a huge portion of the federal highway connecting Kano to Maiduguri, particularly the portion between Malori and Guskuri villages in Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed has appealed to the Federal Government for urgent intervention to repair the road and restore transportation services.

The flood has created a large crater in the road, disrupting traffic and forcing motorists to seek alternative routes.

Governor Mohammed, who visited the affected area, stressed the importance of the highway as a critical link between Nigeria’s Northwest and Northeast regions.

“The Northeast highway’s dual carriageways have been completely washed away.

“We are urging the federal government to address this issue promptly. If necessary, we will implement remedial measures as we did last rainy season,” he said.

Bauchi State is one of the states that have experienced significant flooding this year, causing widespread destruction across multiple local government areas.
