Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria People Party, NNPP, Tuesday revealed that it has purchased scratch cards to verify its candidates’ Senior School Certificate Examination certificate, SSCE, records of its candidates in the forthcoming council polls in the state.
The Chairman of the NNPP in the state, Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa, disclosed this during a chat with reporters in his office adding that the cards would be used verify WAEC and NECO records of the partys candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the election
He said the internal verification exercise was designed to ensure that all the party’s candidates meet the requirements as stated by the elections body.
Dungurawa also disclosed that the party has introduced fees for prospective aspirants vying for elective positions in the election.
He announced N500,000 nominations fee for Chairmanship aspirants, and N100, 000 N100,000 for their Expression of Interests adding that the party has also fixed N150,000 nomination form fees for Councillors and N50,000 for Expression of interest
He said “We as people’s party are fully conscious of the economic downturn occasioned by the Federal government’s policies and the need to soften the ground for participatory democracy “ he stated.
He directed interested aspirants to resigned their Civil Service appointment by the end of August 2024, to enable them meets the deadline set by the State Electoral Commission KANSIEC guidelines.
