Kano State Judicial Service Commission has dismissed a clerk of the Upper Shari’a Court situated at Rijiyar Lemo, Ibrahim Salim for acts of bribery, forgery and falsification of court documents.
A statement signed by the spokesman of the Commission, Ibrahim Jibo on Friday stated that the Commission has also taken disciplinary steps against a Principal Registrar attached to Magistrate Court, Isa Yuguda Wudilawa, demoting him from Grade Level 12 to Grade Level 10.
The Principal Registrar, according to the statement, was found guilty of depositing money collected for official purpose into his personal account.
The Commission said that the act amounted to misconduct and a violation of financial procedure and public service ethics.
“Alkali Ibrahim Isah Usman, Presiding Judge of Bebeji Shari’a Court was also found to have proceeded with execution of judgment before the expiration of the statutory thirty-day right of the appeal period” the statement held.
“His explanation was found unsatisfactory and was issued a strong warning while his promotion was deferred for one year,” the statement added.
“Alkali Shamsu Maul’ainaini of Upper Shari’a Court Durbunde was also demoted to the registrar cadre by one grade level and relieved from performing judicial duties” said the statement, adding that he was strongly warned against removing court records and acting contrary to Circular No. 2 of 2021 on territorial jurisdiction.
