Kano/Jigawa Area Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has collected the sum of N93.3 billion between January and October 2025, representing a 10.1 percent increment from the previous year’s figure which stood at N83.5 billion at this time.
The Command added that collection at the Kano Free Trade Zone skyrocketed from N2.3 billion in 2024 to N17.7 in 2025, representing an extra- ordinary leap of 582. 93 percent increase.
Revenue from excise operations grew from N5.7 billion in 2024 to N7.0 billion in 2025. representing a 31 percent increase, the Command said in it latest statistics to the public
The Comptroller of the Command, Abubakar Dalhatu emerged the Best Comptroller nationwide while the Command emerged the Most Improved in Revenue collection (Imports), the Most Outstanding in Anti-Money Laundering Activities and the Most Outstanding in Community Relations.
At a stakeholders reception hosted in honour of these achievements in Kano, the Chairman Sani Utai (Sa’in Fika) lauded the Comptroller and his officers for the uncommon feat and urged them to sustain the tempo as well as improve on the cordial relationship between them and the business community.

The Comptroller, in his remarks, recalled that when he was posted to the Area Command, he was charged to focus on consolidation, innovation and collaboration.
“We have enlightened, sensitized, innovated and modernized customs processes and procedures in Kano, bearing in mind the task of the CGC as the driving force.
Abubakar urged the business communities to further key into Customs’ evolving processes stating that “Modernization in the Nigeria Customs have come to stay and the old ways of doing things have gone and will never come back.”
He charged his officers to remain committed, expressing confidence that they can do even better that what they have just done.
