Kano State Government has inaugurated a committee to come up with a framework for the regulation of real estate and property agents across the state.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting, the Chairman of the Committee and Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya explained that the initiative was informed by growing concerns over security and revenue generation challenges within the real estate and property development sector in the state.

He noted that real estate operations and development have continued to expand without any form of regulation, thereby creating room for unqualified individuals to participate in the business.

He said the committee wil develop a regulatory framework to guide real estate activities innthe state, including property sales, leasing, and rentals.
