Kano State governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has warned members of the State Executive Council against disloyalty, internal rivalry, and leaking official government information, emphasising that such actions will no longer be tolerated.

The governor gave the warning during the 38th Executive Council meeting, where he urged cabinet members to remain united and committed to the goals of the administration for the progress of Kano State.

Yusuf explained that recent political developments informed his decision to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the alignment was motivated by the interest of the state and the need for stronger collaboration with the federal government.

He also confirmed that five commissioners had resigned following the political realignment, noting that four of them stepped down after declining to join the move to the APC.

The affected ministries included the commissioners for Humanitarian Affairs, Youth, Internal Security and Special Duties.

The governor further announced the removal of the state Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, and also confirmed the appointment of Bilkisu Shehu Maimota as acting Head of Service.

He urged the new appointee to promote discipline, unity and professionalism within the state civil service.
