The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has finally submitted the name of Alhaji Muktar Ishaq Yakasai as the flag bearer of the party for Municipal Federal Constituency’s House of Representatives election in the state.

A letter to that effect ,which was jointly signed by the National Chairman of APC, Adams Aliyu Oshimhole, and the party’s secretary, Mai Mala Buni, and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), followed an order of a Federal High Court sitting in Kano.

The court had asked the party, the second defendant in the suit, to effect the replacement of an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Sha Aban Ibrahim Sharada, with the name of Alhaji Muktar Ishaq Yakasai, in the forth coming polls.

The communication of the letter to INEC, according to checks, has doused the growing anxiety in the affected constituency, in the state capital, following the reluctance of the electoral body to make the change, days after the ruling of the court.

INEC in the state had told reporters, severally, that while they have since de-listed the name of Alhaji Sha Aban Ibrahim, on account of the court order, APC, as a matter of procedure, is the only body that could initiate the inclusion of the new name.
