The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Hussain Yusuf-Datti of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of Saturday’s Dawakin Kudu Constituency by-election in Kano State.
Announcing the result in Dawakin Kudu town, the Returning Officer, Ibrahim Tajo-Suraj, said Yusuf-Datti polled 22,890 votes to emerge winner.

According to him, Yusuf-Datti polled 22,890 votes, Habib Hamisu of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) polled 270 votes and Abdullahi Adamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 108 votes, while Bala Mohammed-Sani of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) polled 89 votes.
Daily Sun reports that the leading opposition parties in the state, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the All Democratic Congress (ADC), both boycotted the elections.
