Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday inaugurated the party’s Independent Campaign Council in Kano State.

The council is charged with the responsibility of mobilising new members from across the 44 LGAs of the state.

The occasion, presided over by the state chairman of the party, Musa Ungogo, took place at the Mallam Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Mambayya House, Kano.

Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the party expressed delight at the interest the party has generated in the state, urging members of the committee to sustain the drive across the state.

In his acceptance remarks, Kano State Coordinator of the Independent Campaign Council, Bashir Adamu, explained that they were mandated to mobilise Nigerians, young and old, from across the LGAs of the state.

He added that although the assignment was enormous, they were resolved to work assiduously ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He remarked that the council would support all the leaders of the party in the state and would not take sides.

He urged members to observe the rules of decency and fair play and to respect the laws of the land in the discharge of their assignment while reminding them that mobilisation and campaign processes must align with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
