The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a total of 198 suspects for various drug-related offences in the state.

Sixty one of them, which included 15 female suspects, were arrested in a popular club that had become a joint for illicit drug activities and 42 that were picked up at Dan Agundi graveyard.

Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, Public Relations Officer of the state Command in a statement on Wednesday revealed that they equally dismantled drug joints at Sheka graveyard and Sheka Obajana.

He held that following the Operation, they recovered illicit substances such as Exol – 5, Rubber solution, Suck and die, cannabis and other dangerous substances.

He described the arrests and recoveries as a significant blow to the drug trade in the state adding that it would reduce drug availability and supply in Kano State .

He added that, “These arrests demonstrate the Command’s commitment to dismantling drug networks and eliminating drug trafficking hotspots in the state.”

“NDLEA Kano Command urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug abuse and trafficking to the appropriate authorities. Together, we can build a drug-free and safer society for all,” he said.
