Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has commiserated with the family of elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, who passed away at the age of 100.
Kalu described the late Yoruba leader as a respected statesman who devoted much of his life to the service of humanity, national unity and the development of Nigeria.
In a statement he signed on Tuesday, the former governor said Fasoranti lived a long and fulfilled life marked by patriotism, selfless service and commitment to democratic ideals.
“Pa Fasoranti lived a long and fulfilled life marked by patriotism, selfless service and commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria.
“His contributions to democracy, good governance and national development will remain part of his enduring legacy,” Kalu said.
The senator extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the leadership of Afenifere, the government and people of Ondo State, and the entire Yoruba nation.
He urged the family to take solace in the remarkable life and lasting contributions of the late elder statesman.
Kalu prayed for the peaceful repose of Fasoranti’s soul and asked God to grant his family the fortitude to bear his passing.
