Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe, has declared the state ready to host President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign flag-off on Saturday, as Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) announced plans to mobilise 10,000 supporters for the rally.
Balarabe, who chairs the Local Organising Committee (LOC), said security arrangements and facilities were largely in place at the Kaduna Township Stadium, while the state government reported that hotels and service apartments across the metropolis had been fully booked ahead of the gathering.
The deputy governor gave the assurance on Wednesday evening after inspecting the stadium, where she expressed satisfaction with preparations, saying only a few finishing touches remained.
“I’m comfortable with what has been done so far. We have the holding area, the conveniences are ready, and the pavilions are ready. What remains is the markings for the different states,” she said.
Balarabe said security personnel at the state and federal levels had participated in planning the event, with measures put in place to protect the president, party leaders, delegates and other participants.
“We have taken security into serious consideration. There will be screening before people are allowed into the stadium, and we want everyone attending to feel safe,” she said.
She expressed optimism that the rally would attract a large turnout of All Progressives Congress (APC) members and supporters from across the country, citing the party’s strong presence in the North-West.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Head of Media Relations, Edwin Olofu, Arewa for Asiwaju said it would mobilise supporters from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The movement said the 10,000-person target reflected its determination to demonstrate its organisational strength and sustain grassroots support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
According to the statement, mobilisation would be coordinated through its national leadership, state coordinators and grassroots structures, with engagement extending to local government areas and communities.
The group described the flag-off as an opportunity to bring together the president’s supporters, party stakeholders and allied political movements, reaffirm their commitment to his re-election and strengthen collaboration across the region.
It urged state coordinators and local mobilisation teams to intensify preparations and maintain effective communication, while calling on members to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly.
Also speaking after the stadium inspection, Kaduna State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, said preparations extended beyond the venue to hospitality facilities across the state capital.
He said hotels and service apartments within Kaduna metropolis had been fully booked because of the expected influx of party leaders, delegates and supporters.
“Kaduna State is privileged and honoured to host the flag-off of the presidential campaign. Our people are eager to welcome President Tinubu,” he said.
Maiyaki said the gathering would provide an opportunity for residents to demonstrate their support for the president and the APC, arguing that Kaduna had benefited from federal infrastructure projects and appointments over the past three and a half years.
Among the developments he cited were the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, into a university; the reported conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a Federal University of Technology; the award of a contract for reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Mando–Birnin Gwari Road; and the proposed Kaduna Light Rail Project.
