The Kaduna State Deputy Governor and Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign flag-off, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, has declared that the state is fully prepared to host President Bola Tinubu on Saturday.
Balarabe gave the assurance on Wednesday evening after inspecting facilities at the Kaduna Township Stadium, venue of the planned presidential campaign flag-off.
Expressing satisfaction with the level of preparations, the deputy governor said most of the necessary facilities had been put in place, with only a few finishing touches remaining.
“I’m comfortable with what has been done so far. We have the holding area, the conveniences are ready, and the pavilions are ready. What remains is the markings for the different states,” she said.
She explained that the committee had also made extensive security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and orderly event, noting that security professionals at both state and federal levels had been involved in the planning.
According to her, adequate measures have been put in place to safeguard the president, party leaders, delegates and other participants expected at the rally.
Balarabe disclosed that attendees would be screened before being allowed into the stadium, assuring prospective participants that their safety remained a priority for the organisers.
“We have taken security into serious consideration. There will be screening before people are allowed into the stadium, and we want everyone attending to feel safe,” she said.
The deputy governor expressed optimism that the rally would attract a large crowd of APC members and supporters from across the country, citing the party’s strong presence in the North-West region.
She said the organising committee was working to ensure that the event proceeded smoothly, with all necessary arrangements made to accommodate the expected influx of party faithful.
Also speaking after the inspection, Kaduna State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said mobilisation efforts were still ongoing, with preparations extending beyond the stadium to hospitality facilities across the state capital.
Maiyaki disclosed that hotels and service apartments within Kaduna metropolis had been fully booked, attributing the development to the expected influx of party leaders, delegates and supporters ahead of the rally.
He described Kaduna’s selection as host of the presidential campaign flag-off as an honour for the state, adding that residents were looking forward to welcoming the president.
“Kaduna State is privileged and honoured to host the flag-off of the presidential campaign. Our people are eager to welcome President Tinubu,” he said.
The commissioner said the event would also provide an opportunity for the people of Kaduna State to demonstrate their support for the president and the APC.
Maiyaki further argued that Kaduna had benefited from the APC-led Federal Government through infrastructure projects and the appointment of indigenes to positions at the federal level over the past three and a half years.
Among the projects and initiatives he cited were the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, into a university; the reported conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a Federal University of Technology; the award of the contract for the reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Mando-Birnin Gwari Road; and the proposed Kaduna Light Rail Project.
He said these developments were among the reasons the state was keen to host the campaign flag-off, expressing confidence that the rally would provide an opportunity to showcase Kaduna’s readiness to accommodate a major political gathering.
The inspection formed part of the LOC’s final preparations for the event, as organisers continued efforts to ensure that the venue, security arrangements and supporting facilities were ready for the expected gathering.
