Kaduna police arrest 16 suspected kidnappers, robbers

Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 16 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers. It rescued three victims from the criminals’ hideout in Kurmin Mashi, Kaduna North Local Government.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Mohammed Rabiu said: “We are going after the bandits to chase them out of the state. These ‘ember’ months will be too hot for them to operate. I visited some black spots and redeployed some tactical team operatives.

“Police swiftly stormed the locations through strategic intelligence gathering and tactical communication, lured the arrested suspected kidnappers and rescued three minors at Calabar Road, Kurmin Mash.

“Operatives at the Toll Gate Division arrested 13 suspected cattle rustlers and recovered 27 cows along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. Three vehicles conveying the rustled cattle were eventually intercepted.

“Operatives of Ikare Division stormed Kurmin-Kogi village following credible intelligence reports. Two suspected gunrunners were arrested. Caches of firearms of locally made pistols and four motorcycles were recovered.

“Operatives of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) recovered one locally made pistol with 21 rounds of ammunition and other high calibre weapons at Kudandan Industrial area, Kaduna South LG.”
