Suspected kidnappers have released Pastor Samson Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Mararaba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, weeks after abducting him from his residence.
However, the kidnappers have detained Yusuf Ambi, the church’s financial secretary, who went to deliver the ransom for the pastor’s freedom. It has been reported that the kidnappers are now demanding additional ransom payments.

Pastor Ali was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, just two weeks after his assignment to ECWA. The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for his release but while the pastor has since been freed, Ambi is now in captivity after going to deliver the money.
Kaduna State police authorities have yet to officially confirm the abduction.
