Political supporter groups in Kaduna State supporting Governor Uba Sani’s second-term bid have been cautioned against using indecent language in their campaigns.

The supporters have been urged to publicise the numerous achievements of the governor to sell him to the public.

Principal Private Secretary to the governor, Professor Bello Ayuba, said while inaugurating the Zaria branch of a political association, the Uba Sani Engagement and Sensitisation Forum (USESF), in Zaria, that Governor Uba Sani had done so much in just over three years but had been underreported.

He charged the sensitisation coordinators to take it upon themselves to publicise such achievements rather than engage the opposition in a war of words.

“We have enough to showcase this administration in terms of tangible projects and services to occupy us,” he said, adding that “we should therefore not waste our time joining issues with some disgruntled elements who only want to distruct the administration from achieving more”.

Professor Bello Ayuba described as unprecedented the fact that the Uba Sani administration initiated over 1,300 kilometres of roads across the 23 local government areas in the state, 700km of which were commissioned within the first term period, something previous administrations had not achieved over the same corresponding period.

He said the administration had also upgraded 255 Primary Health Care Centres from level one to level two, making healthcare delivery in the state less cumbersome.

He added that the administration’s purchase of 100 CNG buses now plying designated routes in the state capital on a free-fare basis had lifted over 2.5 million people, saving commuters over N3.2 billion, which could have been spent on fare payment.

Professor Ayuba said strides recorded in improving educational facilities were equally unprecedented, with over 500 schools renovated in just over three years, something previous administrations had not achieved.

He charged the sensitisation coordinators to highlight these achievements rather than pay attention to the grumblings of people who did not wish the administration well, adding that the groups should emulate Governor Uba Sani, who never engaged the opposition in any war of words, no matter the degree of provocation.

Also speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Services Management Board, Professor Bashir Jamoh, expressed happiness that the new roads across the state had made it possible for vaccines and medicines from the cold stores to reach end-users in a very short time, unlike when the bad roads hindered effective healthcare delivery in the rural areas.
