The running mate to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for the 2027 governorship election, Jerry Adams, has formally accepted his nomination, describing the opportunity as a profound honour and a call to selfless service.
In a statement of acceptance and appreciation posted on his Facebook page, Adams expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for the confidence reposed in him, while thanking supporters across Kaduna State and beyond for the outpouring of goodwill following the announcement.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I accept this nomination as running mate to His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, for the 2027 general election,” Adams said.
He said he had been overwhelmed by the volume of congratulatory messages, prayers and visits since his nomination was announced.
“Since the announcement, I have been genuinely overwhelmed. The calls, the messages, the visits, the prayers; they have come in torrents, from every corner of Kaduna State and beyond. I have struggled to find the words to respond to even a fraction of them,” he said.
Apologising to those whose messages he had not acknowledged individually, Adams added: “Know that every message has reached my heart, even where it has not yet reached my phone.”
The deputy governorship candidate described the nomination as an act of trust by Governor Uba Sani, whom he praised for promoting justice, equity and inclusion since assuming office in 2023.
“I receive it first as an act of faith; faith placed in me by a Governor whose commitment to justice, equity and inclusion has been consistent since he took the oath of office in May 2023,” he said.
Addressing Governor Uba Sani directly, Adams said: “Your Excellency, sir, thank you for seeing something in me worth trusting with this responsibility. I pray daily that I will justify it.”
He dedicated the nomination to the people of Southern Kaduna and the entire state, saying it reflected their resilience, prayers and confidence in inclusive governance.

“This nomination belongs to you as much as it belongs to me. It is the fruit of your patience, your prayers, and your unwavering belief that our home has something valuable to offer the government of this state,” Adams said.
He added that he viewed the nomination not as a privilege but as a responsibility.
“I feel the weight of your hopes, and I carry them humbly, not as a privilege to be enjoyed, but as a duty to be served,” he said.
Adams also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers and religious leaders in fostering peace and stability across Kaduna State.
He specifically commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) for promoting dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
“Your leadership reminds us daily that Kaduna State’s greatest strength is not in what divides us, but in what we choose to build together,” he said.
Outlining his priorities, Adams pledged to offer competent leadership, promote unity across ethnic and religious divides, and serve the people with humility.
“What I offer in return is simple: competence brought honestly to the table, unity pursued sincerely across every divide, and service rendered without pride,” he stated.
He also expressed confidence that, working alongside Governor Uba Sani, they would continue efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State.
“Together with our ever-committed Governor, and with God’s guidance, we will work to build a Kaduna State that is peaceful, prosperous and fair to every one of its people,” Adams said.
