KADCCIMA elects new council at 51st AGM

From Sola Ojo, Abuja

The Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) has elected new leaders to oversee its affairs over the coming years.

Founded in 1975, KADCCIMA is one of Nigeria’s foremost organised private-sector institutions, established to promote commercial, industrial, and agricultural development within Kaduna State and the northern region.

The Chamber is widely recognised for fostering public-private dialogue, supporting business growth, and hosting the annual Kaduna International Trade Fair, one of the country’s largest exhibitions, attracting participants beyond Nigeria’s shores.

The election of the new Council followed the Chamber’s 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kaduna.
Alhaji Farouk Suleiman was elected President, while Alhaji Tijjani A. Musa and Alhaji Saidu M. Jallo emerged as 1st and 2nd Deputy Presidents, respectively.

The immediate past president, Esv. Ishaya Idi, will serve on the Council as an ex-officio member.
Other elected Council members include Alhaji Mohammed K. Abdulsalam, Dr Auta B. Jamaka, Col. Jibrin Hassan (retd), Dr Musa Bawa Garba, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris Mikati, Dr Victor Z. Shidok, Hajia Fatima N. Aliyu, and Engr. Joseph S. Ukwenya.

The remaining members include Phoebe S. Yayi, Bawo C. Omagbitse (representing PAN), Hajia Salma Isa (representing BOA), Hauwa I. Lere (representing KIFC), Hamzat Khalil (representing NNDC), Usman Liman Kaura, and a representative of NOCACO.

The Director-General of KADCCIMA, Dr Usman G. Saulawa, congratulated the newly elected Council, stating, “the Chamber is confident the team would strengthen its contribution to commerce, investment, and industrial growth in Kaduna State and the country as a whole.”
