Juve thrash Napoli 3-0

Juventus beat Napoli 3-0

By John Ogunsemore

Napoli’s Serie A title defence hopes suffered a major setback Sunday following a 3-0 defeat to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

Jonathan David opened the scoring for the Bianconeri in the 22nd minute.

Kenan Yildiz doubled the advantage in the 57th minute, before Filip Kostic sealed the result four minutes from time.

Juventus controlled large portions of the match, with strong midfield play marked by Manuel Locatelli’s influential display, which helped to stifle Napoli’s attempts to mount a comeback.

The win was Juventus’ second in their last 10 meetings against Napoli.

It helped keep them just one point behind fifth-place Como, but with a game behind.

Napoli now sit nine points behind league leaders Inter Milan, with AS Roma just a point behind in fourth place.
