The Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State was rocked by an explosion on Monday evening.
According to online reports, the incident took place near the Bodo-Bonny Road under construction.
The part of the major pipeline which was affected by the explosion is reportedly on fire and the exact cause of the development is unknown at the time of this report.

While there is the possibility of human interference due to the recent threats to attack oil installations in Rivers by militants, nothing has been confirmed.
