By Kachi Ekile

Popular activist-turned-politician Omoyele Sowore has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Sowore’s arrest was revealed by fellow activist, Deji Adeyanju on Sunday, who disclosed that the development took place upon the former’s return to the country.

“SOWORE was arrested by the jobless and lawless Nigerian government for calling for an End to Bad Governance protest,” a brief statement by Adeyanju reads.

As of the time of filing this report, the DSS has yet to release a statement on the reported arrest.

The arrest comes after Sowore alleged that Nigerian security forces were attempting to track him down in his hometown in Ondo State.

Speaking via his verified Facebook account on Saturday, Sowore penned: “Yeah! All around in my home town, they’re tryin’ to track me down, yeah! They say they want to bring me in guilty.

“However Babylon must fall! #FearlessInOctober.”
