The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara and the deputy governor, Ngozi Odu.
The process began at the plenary session of the House on Thursday, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule.

The assembly is accusing the governor and his deputy of gross misconduct.
