Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, a leading engineering and construction firm, has stepped up its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Rivers State, leaving a significant impact on local communities.
Last week, the company sponsored the annual Interhouse Sports competition at Community Primary School, Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt, providing trophies for winners, event canopies, and other support. Community Liaison Officer Hon. Chike encouraged students to develop focus and discipline, highlighting Julius Berger’s commitment to their academic and personal growth.
Earlier, senior secondary students from Bloombreed Schools visited Julius Berger’s Regional Office on the Eastern Bypass for a career-focused excursion. Led by Regional HSE/CSR Manager Tim Oseghe, the visit included a safety induction, technical sessions, and a hands-on tour of the company’s operations. Experts including Laboratory Supervisor Kelly Ngbor, Civil Engineer Elorah Adebola, and HSE Supervisor Mike Fanisi guided the students through the facility.

In February, Julius Berger also sponsored joint interhouse sports competitions for several schools. At these events, Gabriel Ubani, Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board, encouraged students to balance academics with sports. Company representatives also emphasized holistic child development and positive life choices at Model Primary School, Nkpogwu.
According to Oseghe, Julius Berger’s CSR programs aim to shape the next generation, promoting students’ overall well-being and preparing them for future challenges.
Beyond sports and educational visits, the company has supported orphanages, provided vocational training for girls, and invested in broader community development projects across Rivers State and Nigeria.
