Nollywood actress and film producer, Joy Tambou, has been appointed the Chief Protocol to the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Alhaji Abubarkar Yakub Sanusi, marking another significant milestone in her dynamic career within the Nigerian film industry.
Admired for her talent, dedication and strong work ethic, Tambou’s appointment underscores her growing influence and leadership within Nollywood.
Tambou, alongside other exco members and guild’s kitchen cabinet, was officially inaugurated on January 29, 2026 in Abuja, at a ceremony conducted by the outgoing AGN president, Emeka Rollas, whose tenure was acknowledged for its stabilizing impact.

Expressing gratitude, a visibly excited Tambou thanked Sanusi; National Secretary, Ambassador Ifeoma Okeke, and the exco for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged her unwavering commitment to working closely with the new leadership to promote order, excellence, mutual respect, and seamless representation of the guild at all levels.
According to Tambou, her role as Chief Protocol aligns strongly with the broader vision of the new administration. She emphasized her intention to foster unity across the guild, strengthen collaboration among actors nationwide, and support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, professionalism and global relevance of Nigerian actors.
The AGN executive stated that her commitment is rooted in service, inclusiveness and impact, noting that the administration represents “vision over division, service over status, and impact over noise.” She further assured that every member would be seen, valued and empowered to thrive within the association, regardless of region or status.
Beyond her administrative role, Joy Tambou boasts an impressive filmography. She has produced and featured in numerous productions including Tattered, The Other Side, Tangled Heart, Caught on the Net, Bliss of Kamara, Unexpected Love, Palmwine Tapper, Seven Daughters, Expensive Bachelor, Drink My Tears, When a Child Cry, and 3 Days Burial amongst others.
