The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Chapter, has joined the growing chorus of praise for Governor Peter Mbah as he marks his second year in office, applauding his administration’s achievements across multiple sectors.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Agatha Agu, and the Secretary, Jude Chinedu, NUJ described the governor’s leadership as visionary and impactful.
“The Nigerian Union of Journalists, Enugu State Chapter, extends its warmest congratulations to you, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as you mark your second year in office.”
According to the statement, Mbah’s administration has driven remarkable progress across education, transportation and broader infrastructure.
The journalists particularly commended the governor for the launch of 260 Smart Green Schools across the state, describing it as a groundbreaking initiative.
“Foremost among your administration’s achievements is the roll-out of 260 Smart Green Schools. This transformative initiative promises to revolutionise teaching and learning, empower our young people with 21st-century skills and position Enugu as a leader in sustainable education,” the union said.
Also highlighted was the administration’s investment in road infrastructure, which they said was already yielding visible benefits.
“Equally commendable is the comprehensive rehabilitation and expansion of our road network across the state. This will lead to faster connections that will stimulate commerce and ease access to health and social services,” the statement added.
The NUJ also acknowledged ongoing work in other critical areas of infrastructure, including water supply and public facilities.
“Your administration’s commitment to modern infrastructure extends beyond roads. We applaud the ongoing upgrades to urban water systems and the construction of critical public facilities.
“As you celebrate this milestone, please accept our best wishes for continued success, health and strength. May the next year bring even greater dividends for the people of Enugu,” the journalists concluded.
Governor Mbah, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, has consistently maintained that his administration was committed to disruptive innovation and inclusive governance aimed at transforming Enugu into a modern, efficient and globally competitive economy.
