A broadcast Journalist in Ebonyi State, Dr. Simon Igwe-Iroh, has been conferred chieftaincy title of Ugwu Ogo 1 of Utumakpa kingdom (the pride of Utumakpa kingdom).
He was among those honoured by traditional ruler of the community, Ama Otuu Uzor, for their contribution to the community and the society.
Also honoured included the state Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha and the member representing Afikpo/Edda federal constituency in the National Assembly, Chief Iduma Igariwey.
The traditional ruler thanked God and Governor Francis Nwifuru for giving him staff of office, the people for their unalloyed support and Igwe-Iroh who stood by him when it mattered most.
He pledged to be the traditional ruler of all Owutu people and to make peace the plank of his reign.
Igwe-Iroh while receiving the chieftaincy title, said he was happy that God made it possible for Owutu people to succeed in having a recognised traditional ruler after the death of the Utumakpa ix, describing his role as an act of God.
He called for a process of reconciliation while urging the traditional ruler to forgive those who stood on his way during the struggle and to recourse to the people in the event of challenges.
