Anthony Joshua has been sent some crucial advice by fellow London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Luke Campbell ahead of his mouthwatering all-British showdown with Tyson Fury.

The two heavyweight hard-hitters ware set to finally settle their decade-long feud on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Despite both men being in the twilight stages of their respective careers, there is still a monumental demand for the dust-up – as over 500,000 boxing fans queued in an attempt to purchase a ticket, but only 80,000 went on sale.

Fury and Joshua are set for a 1am ring walk in Cardiff later this year. The aforementioned time would suit peak viewing time in the United States – with Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh, Dana White and broadcasters Netflix itching to draw in eye-catching viewership figures.

With December’s showcase promising to deliver spectacularly, many have been quick to weigh in on the bout, including Campbell. The 39-year-old and Joshua go way back, having first met ahead of the European Championships in 2010. And the ex-boxer-turned-politician has sent ‘AJ’ sent tips on how to topple the 6ft 9in behemoth.

Campbell has urged Joshua to pounce whenever he gets the opportunity in the fight and be sure to throw several combinations in a bid to damage his upcoming adversary. “Tyson is big, and he’s long, and he’ll make it awkward. I think the only way that I can see Joshua having success is if he gets his feet in distance, and then he’s got to throw combinations,” the boxing icon revealed to Mirror Fighting.

“He’s got to go, he’s got to go twice or three times every time he throws. He can’t just throw the one shot or the one-two. He’s got to go again and again. I think he’s got to put it on Tyson if he wants any success. But if he if he leans over his front foot like he did in his last fight, he’ll just walk straight on to Tyson’s lead hook.”
