A prominent cleric of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev’d (Prof). Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted last Tuesday, has been released.
Agang, Chairman of the church’s Board of Trustees (BoT), was kidnapped from his residence in the Farin Gada area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Confirming his release, ECWA’s Acting Public Relations Officer, Danjuma Auta, said in a press statement that the cleric has been reunited with his family.
“We wish to announce with immense gratitude and joy the release of our dear pastor, Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted by unknown gunmen.
“We are delighted to confirm that he has regained his freedom and is currently safe,” the statement read.

The church thanked God for what it described as answered prayers and expressed appreciation to members and the global Christian community for their support.
ECWA said the development reflected God’s faithfulness and the power of collective prayer.
The church noted that the incident called attention to the persistent insecurity in the country.
“The rising wave of kidnapping, which has sadly become a means of livelihood for some, is a threat to our collective existence and must be addressed urgently,” the statement added.
The church called on governments at all levels to fulfil their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.
