Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday joined his former schoolmates and the Ominabo family for the funeral Mass of his secondary school classmate, Mrs. Keturah Koweletam Ominabo.
The ex-president disclosed this in a Facebook post after the Mass held at Christ the King Catholic Church, Imiringi, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
According to Jonathan, members of the Mater Dei High School, Imiringi, Class of ’75 were present to honour their late schoolmate.
The former president noted that the late Keturah Ominabo “lived a life worthy of emulation.”
He said, “As a devout Christian, morally upright woman, youth counsellor, and dedicated teacher, she touched many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and commitment to the wellbeing of others.
“These qualities were already evident during our school days and continued to define her life and service to her community.”
Jonathan said it was “particularly meaningful” to be with members of her family, including her son, Wealth Dickson Ominabo, who serves as his aide, as they prayed for “the peaceful repose of her soul.”
“As we bid farewell to our dear classmate and friend, I pray that Almighty God grants her eternal rest and gives the Ominabo family, her friends, former students, and all who mourn her passing the strength and comfort to bear this great loss,” he added.
Jonathan prayed that “her memory remain a blessing, and that the values she embodied continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.”
