The Nigerian Army has called on the people of Ebonyi State to join the military.
It expressed concern that the state had not utilised the opportunities or quota allocated to it in previous recruitments and urged the state to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment exercise in the force to fill the state quota by encouraging qualified youths in their communities to apply for it.
The call was made, yesterday, during an enlarged sensitisation meeting held at Nkaliki in Abakaliki Local Government Area of the state.

They also addressed concerns about the risks associated with military service, particularly the fear of losing one’s life during operations.
They said while military service involves risks, fear should not discourage qualified Nigerians from seeking opportunities in the armed forces, noting that death is an inevitable end for every mortal and can occur irrespective of one’s profession.
The senior officers further highlighted some of the benefits and opportunities available to military personnel, urging the people of the state to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment exercise.
The Chairman, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Chidiebere Alo, alongside traditional rulers and other stakeholders, thanked the army for the sensitisation initiative.
They pledged to take the message to the grassroots and mobilise eligible youths across their respective communities to participate in the recruitment exercise.
