A lawyer and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has urged Nigerians to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the party offers a credible platform to rescue the country from its current challenges.
Okonkwo, who was a former spokesman for the presidential campaign of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, said he aligned with the ADC because of its constitutional commitment to the welfare of Nigerians.
Speaking in a video shared on his X page, the veteran Nollywood actor said his decision to join the party was driven by the need to support efforts aimed at improving the condition of the country.
“I joined this great party because the constitution of our great party says we are in pursuit of the welfare of the nation and our people,” he said.
Okonkwo noted that Nigeria has endured significant hardship in recent years, particularly due to insecurity and poor governance, stressing that the ADC was stepping forward with a mission to address those challenges.
“This country has suffered so much because of the lack of security of its citizens and the ADC has come to the rescue of Nigerians,” he stated.

He said his move to the party was part of a broader effort by like-minded Nigerians to reposition the country and urged citizens across the country to support the initiative.
“I joined ADC as part of the rescue team and I’m urging all Nigerians to join ADC so that we will save our country from imminent collapse,” he added.
Okonkwo also warned that the nation might struggle to cope with another four years of the challenges currently confronting it, including rising fuel prices, insecurity and corruption.
“We will not be able to endure four more years of unavailability and high cost of fuel, insecurity, corruption and incompetence. We are now a laughing stock around the world,” he said.
He further criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress, arguing that the country may not withstand another term under its leadership.
“ADC for the rescue. We may not survive another four years of the incompetence and corruption of the APC,” he said.
